Kiedyś czytałem historię wynalezienia wódki - "aqua vitae" (okowita) przez zakonników. W klasztorach produkowano "wodę życia" wpierw w celach leczniczych, a następnie w celu ubezwłasnowolnienia wieśniactwa. Monopol na produkcję i wyszynk przejęła szlachta, a lud pracujący miał obowiązek kupować i konsumować. To poczucie obowiązku w narodzie pozostało już do dzisiaj. Tradycja taka jak inne: karp na wigilię, chodzenie księdza po kolędzie itp. A, że picie alkoholu jest domeną "ludzi myślących", piją więc kiedy jest okazja (na wycieczkach też). Okazja jest zawsze, jedynie pieniędzy na picie nie zawsze wystarcza, więc pije się na "krzywy ryj" (kiedy inni polewają). Nie ma to nic wspólnego z jakimkolwiek ustrojem. Jak Polacy przestaną pić to na pewno utracą tożsamość narodową, a do tego narodowcy, na szczęście, nie dopuszczą. :-)
